A coding and sound composition workshop exploring the musical properties of DNA.

Participants of all ages are invited to get acquainted with selection of plants, discover their respective genetic codes, explore he concept and practice of sonification, develop music compositions using DNA as a score, perform with the other participants to form a vegetal and genetic orchestra.

This workshop was developed on the occasion of a field trip with YCAM and made possible by Perte de Signal Montréal as part of their KidzLab educational program.

Skills participants learn: introduction de genetics, introduction to sonification, Ableton Live, Max/MSP, music composing with data.
